Breaking Addictions

A Testimony and Story of God’s Goodness, Mercy and Love

Breaking Addicitons

There once was a man who made a commitment to himself and to God that he was going to get free of all the sin he had allowed into his life.  He was a man of God, but because he was not serving God, he had many serious problems.  His wife hated him and wanted a divorce, he had been in trouble with the law, he had given his kids reason to hate him, he was an addict to pornography and had been fired from his job because of it.  He was living a life of sin and degradation, and he was absolutely miserable.

He had known for a long time that God was going to use him mightily some day, but he didn’t really believe he was worthy to be used by God, so he allowed himself to fall into a lot of sin, and his sin was killing him.  He was halucinating and hearing voices in his head, when he decided he just had to get free no matter what it cost.

His solution was to leave his wife since she didn’t understand what was going on, and she was very afraid of him.  He rented a small, cheap house, in a poor part of town.  His plan was to stay and read the Bible and pray until he delivered from all his sin, but it was not that easy.  The Devil wanted to keep him in bondage to his sin.  The man is no longer in sin, because he had great faith and believed the Bible where it said, “All things are possible with God.”

His time in the house was about thirteen months, but the first three weeks were the worst, because the Devil attacked his mind over and over.  God led him, through a supernatural encounter with another man of God, to get into the right program to heal him and his sin.  It didn’t happen overnight, but God slowly healed his mind until he was well enough to work again.  He had been out of work for eleven months, and no one wanted to hire him, because he acted strange and was not like a man of God at all.  And they didn’t think he could work because he was so nervous and fearful, but God in his infinite mercy and love healed the man’s mind.

God gave him supernatural divine favor, and he got a job at the Lockheed Martin Aircraft Company writing software.  He was making a lot of money and sowing it into the mission field of God as fast as he earned it.  His plan was to go to Haiti on a mission trip for God.  He didn’t care if it cost him his life, just as long as he could help build the kingdom of God.

His giving was so great that it came up as a sweet savour in the nostrils of God, and God was compelled to bless him with his desire but chose a different place for him to serve.  God sent him on a missions trio to northwest Honduras.   It was God’s plan to use him in a powerful way, but the man got into sin again, and couldn’t be used for over a year.  Then he came back to God, and God forgave him and healed him again of his sin, because God is a very merciful and loving God, and doesn’t want any of his precious children to remain in sin.

Even during the time of his sin, God loved the man so much that he gave him the plan for a great revival and teaching center.  He wanted the man to build for him in northwest Honduras to bless the people with a place where they could be healed of their sin and sicknesses and experience the goodness and love of God every day—a place where they could learn how to be used by God to heal others just like they and the man had been healed.  You can help the man to build this center of healing for God to use to pour out his goodness and mercy and love on northwest Honduras.

And now we humbly submit to you to pray about how you can participate in this endeavor.  We need prayer, we need people that will go, and we need those that will sow into this ministry.
